Local legend has Is that a lightning bolt hit a tree where the chapel now stands. The chapel is said to be one of the historical sites in the area. Therefore, a bit of sightseeing wouldn’t hurt anyone, especially not the kids. Surely they would love to learn a thing or two about the lightning bolt chapel created in the early 20th century.

The chapel, which is now over 120 years old, has a tremendous character and can be highly refreshing. Whether you are religious or not, check out the chapel simply for its historical significance and local culture.

Go swimming and river tubing

If you happen to visit in the warmer months, it would be a great idea to relax and cool off in the river. There are many river tubing hotspots in Wears Valley.  The tubes  you everything you need to experience the river and maintain a certain level of safety. Sit back, relax, and take in the beauty of the place.

This activity is considerably more appealing if you are with friends or family. You might want to consider something else in case of traveling alone because you might get bored floating around on your own.

On your way out, make sure you stop by the music barn to experience what Tennessee is famous for, country and the blues! There’s no better way to embrace culture than taking time out and living their arts. Ziplining is also a popular activity in the area.
