Welcome to Los Angeles, a sun-drenched Californian tale of a city with a laid back vibe  LA is the world’s most iconic film and entertainment hotbed. The amount of internationally famous and beloved movies that were produced here is incredible.

People are visiting LA for a number of reasons beyond Hollywood as well. We are talking great museums, unique culture, amazing beaches, shopping centers, and a diverse culinary scene, not to mention theme parks for kids. So, without further ado, here are 8 top-rated tourist attractions in LA.

#Universal Studios Theme Park

Universal Studios in Hollywood is an attraction not many can ignore. I t is magnetic. Who wouldn’t want to visit a working movie studio and rides in the same location? Besides being interesting sightseeing, the theme park is also famous for its crazy (in a good sense) rides. It is a great place to visit with your partner, friends, or family. People of any age can find something to their liking in the Studios.

Moreover, if you are a big fan of any of Universal movies (and who isn’t?) you will love to see theme sets and rides. Harry Potter-inspired simulations, Jurassic Park rides, The Simpsons roller-coasters, and so much more will await you at the park. What’s even cooler, the attractions are constantly changing, so you may visit a place more than once and be totally surprised by it.

#Hollywood

Ahh, Hollywood. The city is full of reminders about the film industry and Hollywood history. Before you even enter the city, you already start looking for the hillside sign. Who can resist the temptation to see the Hollywood sign up close? In fact, even if you come to LA with the intention to avoid it, you will fail. It’s close to impossible. The hillside Hollywood sign is seen from almost any angle. It is a landmark sign that is just as important and famous as the studio itself. Then, there is the Hollywood Boulevard and the Walk of Fame. If you’re determined to see all the important sights connected to Hollywood, you need to have at least a couple of spare days.

#Disneyland

If you are traveling with your kids you are the one place you can not escape in this journey. Of course, it’s Disneyland! No matter how old your kids are, or how old you are, all of us love being in Disneyland. If you ever ask someone, “would you do my math homework for money or a Disneyland ticket?” the answer is obvious. Who can refuse a chance to visit this theme park? It’s one of the oldest Disley theme parks in the States. Located right outside the city, it has been the main family destination for over 70 years.

#Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County

Whether you are a science geek or not, it doesn’t even matter. Everyone needs to see the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles. It is the experience you can’t get anywhere else. If you haven’t seen dinosaur skeletons before, or don’t know much about the history of Southern California, it is the place for you. After visiting a museum like this one, you will never ask anyone things like, “can you write my essay for me?” when it comes to natural history. You will know everything you need to know.

#Santa Monica

Another famous destination on our list, Santa Monica, is famous for its laid back atmosphere and rich history. Bordered by three LA neighborhoods, the city is located a bit to the south, in Santa Monica Bay.Before everyone else, it attracts all kinds of athletes, from skaters to surfers, and even yoga fans. Rarely any tourist can leave LA without a photo next to the legendary Ferris wheel. Though of course, you should also visit the place for its beaches and cool stores.

#Griffith Park and Griffith Observatory

Built on the Santa Monica Mountains, Griffith Observatory and Park keeps a lot inside its territory. It is a Zoo, a planetarium, a theater, golf, and tennis courts, among many other destinations. This largest California’s park even has the 1984 Olympic Games sights! It is definitely a must-see on any tourists’ lists. Besides, the territory of the place is so large, that it can be considered a trip on its own. Be sure to dedicate at least one full day to this area before leaving LA.

#Venice Beach

Hardly any movie shot in LA can do without shots at the Venice Beach. It is the iconic LA place that gets instant recognition among people from all over the world. The beautiful place is a must-see for any visiting traveler. Seems like it is exactly the location that shows the true spirit and environment of LA. It’s sunny, hot, full of friendly people, different stores, restaurants, and much more. Oh, and don’t forget about the ocean! If you are up for a swim, it is exactly the place you should go.

#Los Angeles County Museum of Art

Any art lover would be amazed at the scale of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). It has the largest variety of works in the entire western part of the US. The museum keeps a collection of art objects from the entire world and place in history. You should consider visiting it during your trip. Due to Covid19, the museum is temporary closed, but be prepared to spend at least a day here once it reopens.
