The Dining Pod at Soneva Kiri (a “six star” eco-resort) is located in a picture-perfect landscape on Koh Kood, Thailand’s fourth largest island. Suspended 16 feet (about 5 meters) over the shoreline, the Dining Tree Pod has some incredible views to offer for the couple seated at the table inside.
Developed with a rigid frame swathed in woven rattan, the dining pod resembles a true bird’s nest, one that inspires coziness and a “back-to-nature” sort of feeling. The unusual restaurant table can accommodate up to four people and the service is ensured by a waiter on a zip-line. By what we could tell from the official presentation videos, the restaurant looks well hidden in the trees and remote (we estimate the zip-line is at least 150 meters long to the nearest “inhabited” spot). The sound of the waiter sliding on the zip line goes perfect with that of the waves below, so one may say that this is a sensory experience like no other.
