Most of us would agree that we’d love to be able to travel more. But the things that stop us most tend to be money and work, so many of us are tied down to a place of work as well as the need to be able to pay for travel (and everything else!) If you’re ever in a position to be able to work remotely or freelance then this can solve those two major issues, and it can mean that you’re in an incredible situation to be able to travel more. Here are some things to think about if you’re hoping to make this happen.
Afford travel by working on the go
Instead of spending months saving and then enjoying a week or two during the year to go away, you can earn as you go along. As long as you know you’ll have a regular income then you can stay in different destinations and just work from there. You could get an RV and spend time on the road, visiting scenic RV campsites or sleeping out in the wild. You could find budget hotels and other accommodations to stay and just travel and explore lots of different places. As long as you have an internet connection for part of the day, that’s usually enough to submit what you need even if the rest of your work is done offline.
Getting fresh ideas and fresh perspective
Being stuck in the same four walls in an office is never going to be the best for creativity. And if you work in a job that needs creativity that’s going to be a problem, but even ‘logical’ based jobs will need you to think out of the box at times. When your office is anywhere that you lay your laptop, you’re surrounded by scenery and doing new things every day this can open up your mind in incredible ways. It might mean less tunnel vision when it comes to business, it could mean better ideas for content if you write, design or create in any way. Not to mention you’re probably a lot happier too which can help to give your brainpower a boost.
The perfect work/ life balance
Most of us have to work in life, it’s a big part of our lives whether we like it or not. But instead of fitting our life around work, this way we can do the opposite. We can work around life, and find a balance. If you want to feel happier and more genuinely fulfilled this is one way to go about it! You’ll still have to put the hours and the effort in but when you’re doing it on your terms in new places and having fun around the working hours you do, chances are it’s going to be a lot more enjoyable.
