Base Jumping or How to Defy All Human Limits

B.A.S.E. jumping, also sometimes written as BASE jumping, is a dangerous activity that involves an impressive amount of courage and an exaggerated will for adventure. The sport employs an initially packed parachute to jump from fixed objects. “B.A.S.E.” is an acronym that stands for four categories of fixed objects from which one can jump: buildings, antennas, spans (bridge), and earth (cliff).

Arches National Park is located outside of Moab, in eastern Utah, and it is well known for preserving over 2000 natural sandstone arches. The most representative landmark of the park is Delicate Arch, a 16 m freestanding natural arch which became a symbol for the state of Utah. Its highest elevation measures 1,723 m and the surface has about 119 square miles (310 km2).
