Avatar Hallelujah Mountain in China Inspired (by) the Famous Blockbuster

According to DailyMail Online, after the Avatar success, China decided to rename a mountain  previously known as the ‘Southern Sky Column’ into ‘Avatar Hallelujah Mountain’:  The 3,544ft Southern Sky Column is one of 3,000 in the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and became the inspiration for the magical ‘floating peaks’ in James Cameron’s film after a Hollywood photographer spent time shooting there in 2008.

Turda Salt Mine, Romania

Salina Turda is a salt mine situated in the city of  Turda, Cluj County, in the region of  Transylvania, Romania. Salt was first extracted here during the antiquity and the mine continuously produced table salt from the Middle Ages (it was first mentioned in a document in 1075) to the early 20th century (1932).

Český Krumlov, a Bohemian Town from the Middle Ages

Český Krumlov is a small city in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic and is well  known for its fine architecture and art of the historic old town. In 1992, Old Český Krumlov has been designated by UNESCO as World Heritage Site and was given this status along with the historic Prague castle district. Construction of the town and castle began in the late 13th century near to Vltava River, which was important in trade routes in Bohemia.
